SWEDEN: Facts & Stuff {Part 1}

I present to you a new series! Sweden: Facts & Stuff, where I share (amusing?) true facts about Sweden!

Sweden: Facts & Stuff {Part 1}

1: Sweden is the third largest European Union country in terms of land area, just behind France and Spain.

2: Sweden has the highest proportion of personal computers per capita in Europe, with 500 computers for every 1,000 people.

3: Learning to speak Swedish is frustrating because everyone in Sweden already speaks better English than you will ever speak Swedish

4: As of 2004, you can pay your taxes here in Sweden by sending an SMS message from your cellphone.

5: As of 2004, all employers are required to provide free massages for their employees.

6: American textbooks are far more cheaper here than in the United States itself.

7: The world-famous discount store, IKEA was founded here in Sweden in 1943.

8: Europe's largest shopping mall is called Nordstan which is located in Gothenburg. It has approximately 180 shops and 150 offices on 320,000 square meters of area.

9: In 1862, Sweden was the first country to allow married women to vote, although only for their local elections.

10: Between the years 1850 and 1910, more than one million Swedes migrated to the United States.

Hope you learned something!

The second part of this series will be published on Saturday, November 9.

Government Shutdowns are like Travelling Frustrations

So in the news, the United States is experiencing a government shutdown. Apparently, the shut down happened because of debts and stuff like that. I'm not quite updated with recent news, so I really don't know.

Everything in life can be treated as a challenge. Recently, we had problems with banking, thus lowering the chance of going to the Philippines on Christmas. The latter may be treated as a hindrance, a hurdle or an obstacle.

Whilst travelling, you're brain needs to "shut down" from all the hassle and stress from your day-to-day life. But sometimes, you can also "shut down" (literally and figuratively) from your travel, because of the actual stress you deal with travelling.

Travelling should be a leisurely past-time and not something that causes your brain to explode. Make the most out of your travelling and most importantly, plan ahead!

If you do come across some travelling frustrations and want to express your opinion against them, email me at euansuarezblog@gmail.com or click here to learn more.

Want to learn more about the United States' Debt Limit? Here's a video from one of my favorite YouTubers, C.G.P Grey. He does educational videos about all sorts of stuff.
